Eat More Nuts and Seeds!

Health benefits:

•Packed with antioxidants

The polyphenols (an antioxidant) in nuts, can combat oxidative stress.

•A great source of many nutrients

Nuts are a great source of protein and healthy fats. They are an excellent low carb snack as well!

•High in fiber

Our body can't digest fiber, but the bacteria that live in the colon can. Fiber helps keep you full and regular. Almonds have the highest amount of fiber for one ounce at 3.5 grams.

•Packed with Omega-3 fatty acids

Nuts may significantly lower your risk of heart attack and stroke. Eating nuts increases “bad” LDL particle size, raises “good” HDL cholesterol, improves artery function, and has various other benefits.

Nuts can be enjoyed whole, as nut butters, or chopped up on food. They’re healthiest raw or toasted. Store them at room temperature or put them in the fridge or freezer to keep them fresher for longer.
